CA Osasuna with Moss to become an environmental sustainability leader
The Navarre club and the leading climate technology company have signed an agreement through which they will offset the carbon footprint of the club’s administrative and sporting activities in 2023, while also taking steps to reduce and offset the footprint and impact in 2024.
CA Osasuna also aim to establish a carbon neutral footprint and become a reference in European football in the field of environmental sustainability.
Through this alliance, the club from Navarre will look to meet its sustainability objectives with Moss, a company that is well known for its commitment to the conservation of the Amazon in Brazil and it’s one of the leading providers of carbon credit services worldwide.
The project consists of measuring the greenhouse gas emissions generated by all the club’s sporting and administrative activities at its facilities. Additionally, the emissions from the first team’s bus and plane journeys and the club’s water consumption will be counted.
CA Osasuna, through this historical collaboration agreement, hopes to stand out ahead of other sporting institutions and to anticipate future climate regulations. In addition, the Spanish club will offer supporters and sponsors the chance to buy carbon credits to offset the footprints emitted at their own homes and businesses, to rais awareness about sustainable habits among the fanbase.
“We are one of the first clubs in Spain to commit to neutralising carbon emissions. This means that all greenhouse gas emissions generated by the club’s activities will be offset by Moss through conservation carbon credits in the Brazilian Amazon. This makes us very proud because we know that this partnership has a great global impact.”
