In Action at FUNDACIÓN LALIGA

FUNDACIÓN LALIGA is actively contributing to the Football for Climate Justice initiative with its new five-year Masterplan. This plan focuses on combining social inclusion with environmental sustainability across Spanish football clubs. It aims to reduce football’s carbon footprint while promoting community engagement.

The Masterplan involves training staff and club foundations to address social and environmental challenges. It also encourages clubs to organise sustainable events and introduces the concept of climate justice into their activities. This builds on FUNDACIÓN LALIGA’s earlier work, placing a strong emphasis on promoting social inclusion, gender equality, and environmental responsibility.

In the coming years, FUNDACIÓN LALIGA will monitor its progress through self-evaluation and plans to publish an Environmental Fair Play Manual to help clubs implement sustainability projects. Olga de la Fuente, the director of FUNDACIÓN LALIGA underscores the importance of incorporating climate action into the football industry, emphasising that management support is critical for success.
