Real Betis Balompié, through Forever Green, carries out a reforestation in Doñana
The green and white environmental sustainability platform will offset the carbon footprint generated by the Andalucía Equality Golf Cup, a Forever Green partner event. This Tuesday, Real Betis Balompié has done its bit to help one of the most important protected areas in Andalusia and the largest ecological reserve in Europe to recover its identity with the planting of species native to the area, such as stone pines, cork oaks and wild olive trees.
In the summer of 2017, a fire devastated a total of 10,340 hectares of the Doñana Natural Park, specifically in the area of Las Peñuelas de Moguer.
The green and white club, through its environmental sustainability platform, will compensate the carbon footprint generated by the Andalucía Equality Golf Cup, a Forever Green partner event. Specifically, 24,025 tons of CO2 have been offset. Real Betis Balompié is carrying out this action thanks to the Reforestando Andalucía Project. Forever Green has collaborated with the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation Spain to contribute to the restoration of the burnt area in Las Peñuelas.
Thanks to the involvement of Real Betis Balompié, Fundación Plant-for-the-Planet España is one day closer to achieving the goal of the complete restoration of this area.
